Nikon SLM Solutions Adds Dyndrite LPBF Pro to Product Catalog, Delivering Next-Level Toolpath Control and Productivity to Metal AM Customers

Announces Joint Workshop at Nikon AM Synergy to Showcase integration

Wednesday, April 30, 2025

Seattle, WA – April 30th 2025— Dyndrite, a leading innovator in additive manufacturing software, and Nikon SLM Solutions, a global leader in metal additive manufacturing, today announced the integration of Dyndrite LPBF Pro into the Nikon SLM Solutions product catalog - offering metal 3D printing customers a next-generation solution for accelerating build preparation, printing support-free parts, increasing production throughput, and simplifying complex print workflows.

The companies will host a joint commercial and hands-on workshop showcasing the Nikon SLM Solutions and Dyndrite integration at the new Nikon AM Synergy facility in Long Beach, CA on May 13th, 2025.

With Dyndrite LPBF Pro, manufacturers gain an advanced GPU-accelerated software solution built specifically for laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) that enables unprecedented power, freedom, and control over their AM manufacturing process. Whether tackling geometrically complex parts, exploring new materials, or scaling production, users benefit from streamlined workflows, automated scripting, and robust, scalable processing.

Customer Software Benefits at a Glance:

  • Print the “impossible”:
    • Enable easier printing of intricate geometries, such as small features, thin walls, domes, and cantilevers
    • improve part quality and surface finish - whilte maintaiing print productivity
    • Enable low-angle support-free builds and automated targeted placement where supports remain critical.
  • Automate and Scale: Use Python scripting to automate repetitive tasks and enable consistent, repeatable builds.
  • Maximize Hardware Investment: Fully exploit Nikon SLM Solutions’ open architecture and multi-laser systems with optimized toolpathing. Print with Precision, Prime, and Productivity Parameters within the same part!

Figure 1: Dyndrite LPBF Pro eliminates the trade-offs between productivity, prime, and precision parameters. With Dyndrite, there's no need to compromise—you can achieve high quality and lower part costs by applying them all simultaneously.

Over the past year, Dyndrite LPBF Pro has undergone an extensive evaluation process across Nikon SLM Solutions' full range of core machines—including the SLM®280, SLM®500, and SLM®800—as well as the flagship NXG XII 600. This effort, conducted in close collaboration with Nikon SLM's engineering and application teams, tested the software’s performance under real-world customer conditions, with complex geometries, and multi-laser configurations. As a result, Dyndrite becomes the first third-party software in over 20 years to be granted this level of support.

For existing customers, a delta qualification path is in the works, enabling a fast and seamless transition to Dyndrite LPBF Pro—bringing new speed, control, and flexibility to trusted NSLM hardware.

“Dyndrite has surpassed our expectations by unlocking new levels of performance for our customers,” said Charlie Grace, Chief Commercial Officer at Nikon SLM Solutions. “At Nikon SLM Solutions, we are always seeking innovative ways to help our users accelerate production and stay ahead of the competition. With the addition of Dyndrite LPBF Pro to our solution stack, we’re making high-performance metal additive manufacturing even more accessible, automated, and ready for industrial-scale deployment.”

“We built Dyndrite LPBF Pro for engineers who want to do more—faster and at scale,” said Harshil Goel, CEO of Dyndrite. “It has been a privilege to collaborate with Charlie, Simone Castellani, Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Simon Merkt-Schippers, Product Leader at Nikon SLM Solutions, and the broader SLM team to bring this milestone to fruition – We are just getting started, stay tuned for more!

Dyndrite LPBF Pro is immediately available to all Nikon SLM Solutions customers and partners worldwide.
